Justice League Dark - My View

First thing first. JL Dark is far better by many miles when compared to the last animation film "The Killing Joke" from DC world.

The plot starts with law abiding citizens attacking fellow humans claiming they appeared to be demons in their eyes. The JL investigates and can't find any clue. This leads Batman to go for dark art experts. The rest of the story is who the Dark Arts heroes are and how they are forming a team, were they able to stop this madness and save the world.

From the DC animation world, we have seen only a few movies which concentrate on other heroes apart from Batsy, Supes or Wonder Girl. This movie falls on the list of few kind. The JL Dark team in this movie is of Constantine, Zatanna, Deadman and Etrigan, of course, Batsy can be considered as a tag along. All the team members have their own set of special magic or dark arts skills which make them enter into this special league. Do watch out for two more heroes in the movies who may not be part of the direct team but are heroes and belong to the same league in their own ways.

When it comes to the animation apart from one scene, in no other areas it was disturbing. But that one part was so terrible and visible that Supes looked like a real joke and mediocre output. However, it is just one scene but the remaining time the animation is so smooth and top quality that we are drawn into the story world from the first instance. The person who drew Constantine and gave voice should be lauded. Constantine is a  difficult character to bring live because of its complex character and jerkass like attitude. But that is the trademark of Constantine and the team has succeeded in bringing it live without any flaws. A real treat to see Constantine as Constantine on the screen. We are also treated to the backstory of Etrigan and the curse break along with Deadman's story.  The real surprise package is Swamp Thing. He does the GoT Hodor in this movie and is a love at first sight for us. So good, we keep thinking that his part could have had more screen presence. Zatanna has a good role but not as good as the others. She looks stunning and ensures to get her presence noticed both by her characterisation and popping at all important times in the movie. In spite of a longer screen presence, the real magic of Zatanna is missing. She is supposed to be a young mind with lots of fun around which is missing. If the creators had given more screen space for Swamp Thing and strong story for Zatanna this would have been a  perfect output all along.

The odd man out in this team is Batsy.  Infact, I really wonder why Batsy his seen in the team as the original JL Dark team is without Batsy. However, I believe maybe due to the market factor and reach of Batman, he is added in all movies so that they can reach a wider audience. Still, they have not forced any scenes for Batsy and he just plays a character all along by undermining his presence. The team should be lauded for this approach if not it might have ended as a Batman movie than a JL Dark one.

DC has got redemption by doing this movie for the sin they did with The Killing Joke. This one has a strong plot with good animation, characters to back up and backstory of characters to go back and root touch with them or know of them. However, the real success of this movie is staying true to the original characters from the comics and presenting them perfectly with a different plot and premise from its predecessors. This aspect makes Justice League Dark a special must watch movie from the DC animation series. Go for it

Vikram Vedha - My View

Vikram Vedha is a movie which shouldn't be missed. I don't remember how many times I have started a movie with such positive quote but I am I am happy this one start on the good note. Not only my view but the movie too starts out on the good positive note. The directors clearly make the audience to prepare for the movie from the movie title to the title cards. The plot of the story is Vedha who is a gangster presents puzzles to Vikram the police officer. How Vikram solves the puzzles and what it leads to is the rest of the story. My friend Sathish always use to say this (a director) half of the movie is done when the casting is done, The movies perfection and satisfying performance is due to the perfect casting, Right from the leads to the support characters all are cast perfectly and all have delivered a commanding performance. The sharp dialogues, BGM and excellent shots all through the movie are a huge plus for the movie. The first half was super fast and you ...

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion - My View

Movie is about the experience which makes us travel into a different world. We often dream and we never think about any logic or look for flaws in it. We travel and experience the dream. It is the experience that's what matters. This movie gives that experience. Bahubali has its flaws but the experience it offers makes us go over it and cherish the movie. The experience we live in is on a different scale where you applause for many scenes and when the movie ends you can't stop from giving a good applause to it. And when you realise it's not only you who is applauding but many others along with you then you are all together in a different kind of feel. The feel you are not alone. If the first part was about son the second part is about dad. This part says who Bahubali was and how he lost his powers and does his son gets to the power or not. The performance from the actors is simply superb. Even the word superb doesn't justify for all their effor...

Teen Titans: The Judas Contract (My View)

More than the live adaptation movies, I personally love the animated version of DC movies. Always felt the animations are more faithful to the comics than the movies. In recent times, the animations were only of an average level when compared to the goodness it offered in the past. Looks like DC animations have found their way back with this movie. The plot focuses about the new Titan Terra trying to get a foot inside the team and at the same time, we see Starfire and Nightwing going towards relationship level. On another hand, we see two villains Deathstroke and Brother Blood setting a plan in motion to defeat and capture Teen Titans. The rest of the story is whether the villains become successful and why they want to capture the Titans and is Terra able to become a part of Titans family.  As said at the start of this article, after a long time DC animation team has given a perfect movie to us. All characters get a chance to showcase their presence in the story...
