One can’t just start writing about everything he wishes to or wants to. You need to be in a groove to do it and to be in the groove you need the content to push you into it. I have watched four movies this week and really wanted to write about at least two of them. However, things catch up and we never get a chance to write. Today it was completely different from where I couldn’t stop myself writing after seeing something, I love very much which was also presented in a perfect way.
The movie is based on the comic of the same name which was a three-part series. However, the animation movie is made in two parts. The part one of the books and the movie focuses on Doomsday and Superman battle and its eventual ending. The movie also closely focuses on the relationship between Louis and Superman and to be honest it was beautiful. The main plot is about stopping the killing machine Doomsday from destroying all lives on Earth and what Superman and the JL team have to go through in achieving it.
After a long time, we are treated to visualize a full and full action and complete entertainment movie from DC animation without leaving any stones unturned. A perfect movie covering all bases of actions and emotions like fight, anger, love, friendship, fun, joke and sacrifice. The action is heavy dose but very entertaining to the core. You don’t get a chance to blink that’s how engaging it is. However, during the fight sequence, the director has beautifully added many sequences which show what kind of a human Superman is. Actually, this strongly establishes a bonding between Superman and us. The real power of Superman is not his superpowers but his golden heart, unconditional love towards the humans and his closed loved ones. The director has established this part beautifully in the movie which is why in the end one might not be able to hold their tears off.
An interesting coincidence to point here is the original comic was created as Superman sales were down and they wanted to revive the sales and interest on Superman back. They also wanted to establish that Superman is not an invincible person and he has opponents who can match and overpower him in battle. If you watch closely, more or less the current scenario is too on the same line in the movie part. Last few animation movies were not satisfying and in the movieverse, Superman was shown as an invincible person. I see this more as a revive and limelight back event which the DC team have pulled it off beautifully.
After a long time, a heart touching and action-packed movie which almost brought me to tears. DC always nails with its animation movies. However, even by their standards, this one was a brilliant one after a long time.
All DC fans don't miss this gem.
