Vikram Vedha - My View

Vikram Vedha is a movie which shouldn't be missed. I don't remember how many times I have started a movie with such positive quote but I am I am happy this one start on the good note. Not only my view but the movie too starts out on the good positive note. The directors clearly make the audience to prepare for the movie from the movie title to the title cards.

The plot of the story is Vedha who is a gangster presents puzzles to Vikram the police officer. How Vikram solves the puzzles and what it leads to is the rest of the story. My friend Sathish always use to say this (a director) half of the movie is done when the casting is done, The movies perfection and satisfying performance is due to the perfect casting, Right from the leads to the support characters all are cast perfectly and all have delivered a commanding performance.

The sharp dialogues, BGM and excellent shots all through the movie are a huge plus for the movie. The first half was super fast and you wouldn't even blink your eyes away from the movie for a second. However, the second half is a bit draggy and takes you to a drowsy feel though it is only for a short phase still it can be felt significantly. This spoils the flow of the movie at the pace we got engaged. However, the climax does full justice for that lagging slow phase. The climax is a bit long but we can see the dotted lines getting completely connected in here.

The excellent performance comes from Vijay Sethupathi and Maddy. Maddy and VS have equal screen space but VJ with his performance makes a huge impact. This reminds me of The Dark Knight movie. Bale would have acted superbly as Batman but Heath's role as a Joker is the one which is highly talked. Joker was the key in the movie. Joker was allowed to have a free run with his performance to bring that extra zing while Bale was required to do the Batman role to perfection without the zing. The same has happened here. Maddy is required to do the role of a police officer to perfection and he does it and VS is required to do is a role with an extra zing which he does it. Without VS's zing performance and Maddy's non-zing perfected role, the movie wouldn't have come out as good as it is. Both should be lauded for their performance and the directors should be celebrated for bringing out such excellent performance from the leads.

The other characters have done their role to perfection and if someone requires a special praise it is Shraddha and Kathir. Though they come only for few scenes they make an impact in the movie especially Shraddha. She is the real breeze in the movie and the romance sequence has come out so well in the movie. Prem as a police officer makes his presence felt.

The two drawbacks of the movie are the slow second half phase for a short while and the BGM overlapping the dialogues at important places.

The ending is top notch. One can't think of a better ending than this. The Vikram Vedhalam concept is beautifully used all through the movie. The writers and directors should be lauded for such smart thinking and bringing it out perfectly. It's no easy task but they have nailed it. I am a fan of Pushkar and Gayathri movies but this one is completely different from their earlier two movies and far better too. This doesn't mean their last two movies were bad but this one is way better than them.

Sam the music director and Vinod deserve a special praise. Though we might not have seen them in person in the movie their presence can be felt all through the movie through their work. Excellent BGM score apart few areas (maybe the few areas could be due to a problem in the theatre I had watched) and excellent sharp and crisp picturization. Hope they do more movies and do well as they have in this movie. Yaanji stays in your mind for a long time.

This is not a cult classic one but definitely a bit higher than a mass movie with strong characterisation, engaging plot and for the Vikram-Vedhalam plot.

Don't miss this movie

Sing (2016) - My View

Movies give an array of feelings and experiences to us. One such experience is movies that make us travel to the world where we can meet our inner child in us. This is the world where we can laugh out loud, shed our tears without thinking about anything and be as we wish to be. And in this, we sing out loud and tap our feet with the songs that go around. The movie is about few animals and their dreams in the singing world. Within few minutes into the movie, we believe that all animals can live together in a house surrounded by human inventions and they can sing and interact just like humans. The whole movie team wins there, the moment, we start to believe this world and get into it. The story happens in the Anthropomorphism world. The story is about a Koala (Buster) who wants to become successful in the show business and his journey towards achieving it. He has an Iguana as assistant and Sheep friend who are with him for support. After several acts resulting in failures as the la...

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion - My View

Movie is about the experience which makes us travel into a different world. We often dream and we never think about any logic or look for flaws in it. We travel and experience the dream. It is the experience that's what matters. This movie gives that experience. Bahubali has its flaws but the experience it offers makes us go over it and cherish the movie. The experience we live in is on a different scale where you applause for many scenes and when the movie ends you can't stop from giving a good applause to it. And when you realise it's not only you who is applauding but many others along with you then you are all together in a different kind of feel. The feel you are not alone. If the first part was about son the second part is about dad. This part says who Bahubali was and how he lost his powers and does his son gets to the power or not. The performance from the actors is simply superb. Even the word superb doesn't justify for all their effor...
