Ini Ellam Maraname - My View

I am a great fan of horror, scientific, history, magical and psychological stories. If I come across any story dealing with these areas it brings in an enormous joy. Most of the time I will become as one of the lead characters and will end up into this mysterious beautiful world. Even if the story is average, I enjoy them. Now imagine, I am coming across a mind-blowing awesome story in this area. It will be a treat and I would be on cloud nine. That was my experience with this story.

Martin stories are generally called as Martin mysteries. His stories are always of mysteries and one way or other connected to strange facts. Another important part of Martin stories are the twists. A twist inside a twist which in turn would have more twists inside it. But it will be engaging and would give a good travel experience.

However, this story is one of its kinds in the Martin series. It didn’t have twists inside twists but on the contrary, travels pretty straight. Still, when it comes to keeping the reader engaged doesn’t go down even in one panel. The only drawback I can point out is few lengthy old dialogues in Tamil which could have been avoided. The artwork of the book was top notch and pretty much complimented the story in all ways. Explaining a biological part is a tough job and it was handled nicely in this story. The book might be in black and white but still, its artwork is good enough to make you go for it. Watch the eyes of the characters in the book and their expressions. Those are proof for the hard work the team has put in.

New York City is witnessing series of attacks which resembles the 10 plagues of Egypt as said in Bible. Though all attacks resemble the Godly punishment act in real it is due to genetic engineering. The authorities are in search to find out who is or who are responsible for these acts; while at the same time they must handle the consequences and prepare for the attacks. Martin is called into the team who are part of the investigation and how Martin solves the mystery is rest of the story.

If you want to make a good story out of your hero make the villain and his premise stronger than the hero. Any story which has followed this rule hasn’t seen many failures and this one too doesn’t. Until the end, I was never able to guess who the villain is and in it lays the real success of the story. The way human mind changes and can lead to good and bad are easily captured in this story. The hero fails in a lot of places but also closely edges towards the enemy at every instance. What kind of attack the next one is going to be and how it is going to be and what genetic modification is involved and how the team and hero are going to handle it makes the whole premise an interesting and engaging one. The best part of the book is the fusion of science and religion inside the story. In a way, it proves religion and science are not opposite as we think but are interrelated. This one definitely reminded me of Dan Brown stories.

There are few comics which I always felt will do well as a movie. Pandemonium, Jason Brice, Halloween night and now this one too joins the list. Not only this is one of the best Martin story but also one of the best story that I have read across. If it had been in colour its impact and experience would have been even more and of course, the size of the book could have been in the bigger league.

Highly recommend this for everyone

P.S: The title and inside front cover are a huge let off

Vikram Vedha - My View

Vikram Vedha is a movie which shouldn't be missed. I don't remember how many times I have started a movie with such positive quote but I am I am happy this one start on the good note. Not only my view but the movie too starts out on the good positive note. The directors clearly make the audience to prepare for the movie from the movie title to the title cards. The plot of the story is Vedha who is a gangster presents puzzles to Vikram the police officer. How Vikram solves the puzzles and what it leads to is the rest of the story. My friend Sathish always use to say this (a director) half of the movie is done when the casting is done, The movies perfection and satisfying performance is due to the perfect casting, Right from the leads to the support characters all are cast perfectly and all have delivered a commanding performance. The sharp dialogues, BGM and excellent shots all through the movie are a huge plus for the movie. The first half was super fast and you ...

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion - My View

Movie is about the experience which makes us travel into a different world. We often dream and we never think about any logic or look for flaws in it. We travel and experience the dream. It is the experience that's what matters. This movie gives that experience. Bahubali has its flaws but the experience it offers makes us go over it and cherish the movie. The experience we live in is on a different scale where you applause for many scenes and when the movie ends you can't stop from giving a good applause to it. And when you realise it's not only you who is applauding but many others along with you then you are all together in a different kind of feel. The feel you are not alone. If the first part was about son the second part is about dad. This part says who Bahubali was and how he lost his powers and does his son gets to the power or not. The performance from the actors is simply superb. Even the word superb doesn't justify for all their effor...

Teen Titans: The Judas Contract (My View)

More than the live adaptation movies, I personally love the animated version of DC movies. Always felt the animations are more faithful to the comics than the movies. In recent times, the animations were only of an average level when compared to the goodness it offered in the past. Looks like DC animations have found their way back with this movie. The plot focuses about the new Titan Terra trying to get a foot inside the team and at the same time, we see Starfire and Nightwing going towards relationship level. On another hand, we see two villains Deathstroke and Brother Blood setting a plan in motion to defeat and capture Teen Titans. The rest of the story is whether the villains become successful and why they want to capture the Titans and is Terra able to become a part of Titans family.  As said at the start of this article, after a long time DC animation team has given a perfect movie to us. All characters get a chance to showcase their presence in the story...
